Raised in and out of the foster care system, HUGS founder, Guadalupe (Lupe) Begovatz had a negative out look on life. In 2011, she was placed in the Begovatz Family's foster home. The Begovatz Family worked with Lupe to show her that many others have gone through many large struggles. In 2014, Lupe was adopted into the Begovatz Family. Since then, HUGS has traveled the midwest talking about the mission of HUGS and volunteering with other charities. This is how HUGS was born, the charity was founded to help those in unfortunate situations find a ray of light in the dark.

From the BEGINNING |
Where we are now |
HUGS started out running off of donations from family and friends. From there HUGS would put together packages for girls who needed a little extra kindness in their life.
|
Since then, HUGS has expanded to helping children of all genders. We work primarily with foster children and other local and national charities.
|
Lupe Begovatz and her adoptive Mother, Wendy Begovatz run HUGS together. HUGS is registered United States Non-Profit.
